Furniture ReUse at Robin Hood Bay

If you are bringing gently-used furniture and household items to the Residential Drop Off (RDO) we encourage you to place it in the furniture donation bin before discarding your other items in the garbage bins.

The City of St. John’s in partnership with Home Again Furniture Bank and Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and initially funded by the MMSB, Canadian Parks and Recreation and the City of St. John’s, divert gently-used furniture and household items to individuals and families in need.

Conveniently located in the RDO at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility, since the program began in 2018 nearly 40 tonnes of household goods have been diverted from landfill and redirected to those in need.

Accepted items for furniture reuse include:

  • Sofas and love seats
  • Dining tables and chairs
  • Coffee and end tables
  • Dressers
  • Night stands
  • TV stands
  • Book shelves
